Parent FAQs

I want to volunteer at SportsLife Camp. What is expected of me?

One of our desires is for the relationship between church volunteers and campers to be strengthened during the week of camp. Our staff will take care of all the details, we just ask volunteers to come ready to have fun with the kids. Volunteering for a week of SportsLife Camps gives adults a chance to act like a kid again!

What happens during a typical day?

The SportsLife Camp day is not a typical camp day. Campers will have fun singing, moving and learning all in the name of Jesus. SportsLife Camps staff, as well as volunteers from your church, will lead campers through the day. For additional information visit the Typical Day section of our website or watch our video.

What do my kids need to bring to camp?

Mostly we ask that all kids come ready for sports, arts and outrageous fun. We recommend things like sunscreen, water bottle, comfortable shoes and a bag lunch if they are attending a full-day camp. Each church requires campers to bring different things, so we encourage you to check with your Children's Ministry Director.

Can my kids be with their friends at camp?

Campers will be put into small groups based on the Main Event they choose. If they choose the same Main Event as their friend, then they will most likely be with their friend. We encourage you to let your Children's Ministry Director know about this special request.

How do I find a camp located near my house?

Please contact our Service Center for specific camp location information at 1-877-601-1122.

What is a Main Event and Side Show?

Main Events time of camp is where campers participate in a specific sport or art of their choice. During that hour campers will also participate in huddle time where they will hear a short story from their coach relating to the theme of the day. Some Main Event examples are: basketball, soccer, dance and art. Your church will choose what Main Events are offered. Side Shows are wild, wacky, and creative activities that encourage laughter and silliness. Having large amounts of fun is the goal of Side Show time. Some Side Show examples are: Capture the Noodle and Tennis Ball Mania.
